Review Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 (iPhone)

UMK 3 arrived for iPhone by surprise and piqued the curiosity of many people. The game considered one of the most fun fighting games of the 90's, combined unrestrained violence with fast gameplay and insane combos. But can all this variety of elements fit into an iPhone game?

Released last month for regular cell phones, UMK 3 was very well received. The game, despite being quite limited, featured the same graphics and fast gameplay that marked Mortal Kombat's Phase 3.

But when EA Mobile decided to make UMK 3 for iPhone, it made some controversial decisions. The first one was in relation to graphics. Although any graphical improvement is welcome, a lot of people just didn't like the "scramble". Now all characters are polygonal.

    Where is Kabal????

Another wrong decision was regarding controls. They are very inappropriate, the virtual buttons are too close and don't respond very well. That is, you will spend more time fighting with the controls than with the opponent. Combos are difficult to execute, because when you get too close to an opponent your character will perform a "grab" and not start a combo.

The fast gameplay was preserved, but only the CPU can make the most of it, because with the controls with imprecise responses, you will hardly be able to keep up with the speed of the game.

    Verdict

UMK 3 is unfeasible on touchscreens, the game is graphically beautiful, but it's nowhere near possible to do half of the combos and other things we'd like. Which leaves a frustration at the end of the game.
