Oxenfree: “Stranger Things style” game is re-released in Spanish on mobile

O Night School Studio just relaunched Oxenfree No. Android e iOS. With a big difference for us Spaniards: the game is translated into spanish of spain. Oxenfree is available for free to Netflix subscribers and is a offline game.

Finally, one of the best adventures on mobile (and PC too) is available with official subtitles in portugueses. This game has never been translated on cell phones. The PC version was the only one that remains a fan translation.

Oxenfree is a great game in Spanish and offline

Netflix subscribers can enjoy the game at no additional cost, without in-app purchases and even play without internet.

The nickname “Stranger Things style” is justified by the model “a group of young people and a great mystery”, but Oxenfree is more focused on the late teens.

In Oxenfree, a group of young people meet for the last time before the end of the holidays. To make the occasion special, they decide to visit an abandoned island, where a strange radio sound reveals the opening of a temporal rift.

Oxenfree is beautifully written and scripted, with compelling dialogue and exceptional voice acting. This is a game that I have always recommended, and that I knew that English would be a barrier for many people. Now it is no more.

In fact, the game has been translated into more than 30 languages, including: German, Arabic, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Korean, Croatian, Danish, Spanish (Latin America), Spanish (Spain), Finnish, French , Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Indonesian, English, Italian, Japanese, Malay, New Zealander, Norwegian, Polish, Spanish (Spain), Spanish (Portugal), Romanian, Russian, Swedish, Czech, Turkish, Ukrainian and Vietnamese.

Night School Studio co-founder and studio director Sean Krankel commented on the game's re-release:

“OXENFREE is a very special game for many people. Releasing it on Netflix is an incredible opportunity to bring Alex's story to even more people, maybe even people who never thought they'd want to play the game." “As a game developer at Netflix, we have everything we need to introduce the game to a global audience. Our community has been asking for subtitles in more languages for a long time, and the release of NETFLIX OXENFREE offers the best storytelling experience for players around the world in their local language.”

Oxenfree is a game that I always thought was the face of the Netflix Games service, a magnificent adventure that perfectly condenses the “Stranger Things” or “mystery movie with teenagers”, call it whatever you prefer. The characters are captivating and the story is very well written. A great service hit.

I did a review of the game when it came out in 2017 for mobile, you can check it out here.
