Nickelodeon Kart Racers was released discreetly on Android and iOS. The game with kart racing and power-ups follows in the footsteps of Mario Kart, even on mobile. The game arrives with vertical gameplay and “differentiated” control.
What is Nickelodeon Kart Racers
Nickelodeon Kart Racers is a kart game as its name implies. The title had already been released for consoles and PC and now arrives in an adaptation for smartphones.
The game brings characters from classic Nickelodeon cartoons and puts them to face each other in fun kart races.
It must be made clear that the mobile version is very different and limited compared to the console versions, despite literally having the same look.
The inspiration in Mario Kart is obvious. The Nintendo classic created a genre that is exhaustively copied by other companies, and with Nickelodeon Kart Racers. The question that remains is: “Was it good?”. The answer is: “it depends”.
Gameplay
The inspiration for Mario Kart even comes from the mobile version, with the new Nickelodeon game having as main gameplay the vertical screen, just like the Nintendo game when it came to cell phones.
The downside is the confusing gameplay that focuses on controlling the kart just by sliding your finger sideways. This gets confusing, as the player needs to keep an eye on the drifting meter at all times. The latter grants an extra boost. This makes it more rewarding to forget about obstacles and focus and go full speed ahead.

Despite the same name, Nickelodeon Kart Racers is a very different game on mobile. Unlike Mario Kart, the game was too different from the console versions. Combined with the in-app purchases, the game should be viewed as mere casual entertainment.
