Sonic 2 was updated in iOS and got a new version on Android. Game is a remastered version of the classic Mega Drive game and brings new features such as secret stages, Spanish language and possibilities to play with Knuckles.
The new version of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has already replaced the old one on the App Store, it also costs $2,99 and is in Spanish! Those who had the old version will receive the new one through an update. The Android version is also available on Google Play for approximately R$7,00.
This is a game that, more than ever, is worth buying. Not just to support the excellent work these folks at Christian Whitehead have been doing with Sonic games. Now we can dream of Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knucles remakes on our mobile devices.
I love Christian Whitehead. And if you like mobile games and classics, then you have to love this guy too. Remember Sonic CD, one of the best titles of one of the best series in the history of games? Despite this game being considered a masterpiece, few had the opportunity to play it due to the fact that it was only released for the unsuccessful Sega CD. Until one day Christian Whitehead, his indie team and his engine came along and brought to mobile devices an impeccable port containing improved graphics, remastered sound and controls that worked supernaturally well on touch screen. Thanks to these people, many people, like me, for the first time had the opportunity to play Sonic CD on their cell phones and tablets and to see with their own eyes and fingers the reasons why he was always so acclaimed.
And do not stop there! The absolute classic and seminal platformer Sonic The Hedgehog, which was already available on the App Store and Google Play in a crude version that was like playing on an emulator, also received a luxury treatment. Super Christian Whitehead and company came on the scene and turned that rough version into a port even more polished than the Sonic CD! This new Sonic The Hedgehog in addition to improved graphics and sound also brought things like new game modes and the possibility to play with Tails and even Knuckles!
And if you love Christian Whitehead now, get ready to love him even more! He and his troupe brought us this time a remake of Sonic The Hedgehog 2! Everything indicates that this version is even more devastating than the previous one. Among the new features are the Boss Attack mode, where you have to face all the bosses in sequence, and the Hidden Palace Zone. Don't know what this is? It's an unfinished area of the original game, unpublished levels that ended up being cut to speed up its launch! That's on top of the usual improved graphics, 60fps framerate, remastered sound, playable (and this time unlocked) Tails and Knuckles, multiplayer, and more!
Anyone who doesn't love Christian Whitehead has no heart.
