
LabPixies produces so-called “casual games” for cell phones, as well as titles for social networks.
Google is also eyeing games. The company, which has its “tentacles” spread across several areas, ranging from search engines to smartphones, is attentive to mobile games and so-called social games. So much so that it has just acquired the developer LapPixies.
A company based in Israel, LabPixies develops games and other applications for platforms such as iPhone and Android, widgets for iGoogle (Google's personalized page service) in addition to investing in programs for social networks, such as Facebook, Orkut and MySpace.
The values of the deal were not disclosed.
