A worldwide success, the open world RPG Genshin Impact is one month away from its release. MiHoYo's game broke all records and became one of the biggest releases in gaming history. In just one month, Genshin earned US$ 245 million dollars (about R$ 1.4 billion)
In its first week, Genshin was already close to making $60 million dollars, and there was no sign that the hype would let up. 30 days later, the game is approaching the $250 million mark. At the moment, it is the most profitable game on the App Store and Google Play, easily surpassing Free Fire, PUBG, Fortnite, Honor of King and many others.
Genshin Impact's release surpasses titles like Netmarble's Lineage 2: Revolution and NCSoft's Lineage M, both popular and established IPs that saw record mobile releases in South Korea alone. It also outperforms popular games like Nintendo's Fire Emblem Heroes, which racked up $70 million in player spending during its first month, while Epic Games' Fortnite raked in $25 million in its first 30 days on the App Store. One release, Pokémon GO, grossed more in its first 30 days, however, grossing an estimated $283 million.
As evidence of its global appeal, we can see, using Sensor Tower data, that Genshin Impact is the biggest mobile RPG launch in the US to date, raking in $45 million during its first 30 days on the market. It is ahead of Fire Emblem Heroes at No. 13 with over $10 million, and Netmarble's The Seven Deadly Sins at No. XNUMX with nearly $XNUMX million.
