And gradually, the Gameloft starts to wither. Teams are fired and company offices around the world are closed. The newest recent drop is the office the company maintained in the UK.
The information comes from the Linkedin of Gameloft's England office director, John-Paul Burke. According to Burke, there was no further development in the office, just marketing and public relations.
Gameloft confirmed that seven employees were laid off.
In his Linkedin post, Burke wrote: “It was a dream job and I thank [Gameloft] for the opportunity. She gave me a fantastic platform and took me to beautiful cities and work with amazing clients and colleagues. We've had tremendous success and now it's time to embark on the next challenge. Gameloft will continue to offer the same fantastic service around the world and I wish them the best of luck.”
Gameloft is in the process of "shrinking" which is being dubbed "restructuring".
The company recently laid off 15 employees in Australia, where it closed another office. In February 2018, it was the New Orleans office. Teams are shrinking day by day, servers and games are shutting down too.
Interestingly, Gameloft remains one of the most profitable companies in the mobile market, even though it did not release any relevant games in 2019. All the result of the maintenance of existing games, with aggressive monetization, and bets in other markets (game distribution via the official store ).
