And behold Final Fantasy VII, the most iconic game in the Square Enix franchise, comes to Google Play Pass. Subscribers to Google's gaming service can download the game for free on Android.
The game arrived this week without any kind of warning. It just appeared on the Play Pass news tab.
What is Google Play Pass? It is Google's game subscription service. For just R$10 per month, you can play a large number of paid and offline games for free. Currently the service has games like Monster Hunter, Dead Cells, Monument Valley, Limbo, Star Wars Kotor and many others.
About Final Fantasy VII
Not just a milestone for PlayStation and Square, FFVII is a milestone in the history of video games, one of the most important games in the world of electronic entertainment.
It was the biggest game at the time, a true odyssey that required three discs from Sony's console.
At a time when RPG video games didn't take more than 30 hours to do everything, FFVII can take up to 90 hours for you to do 100% of the game.
Final Fantasy VII follows the story of mercenary Cloud Strife, who is hired by the eco-terrorist group AVALANCHE – led by Barret Wallace – to help fight the mega-corporation Shinra Electric Power Company, which attempts to drain the planet's life force as a source of energy.
Apathetic to the cause, Cloud initially fights for personal gain and the promise he made to childhood friend Tifa Lockhart. Cloud eventually joins forces with many others to save the planet, which is threatened by Shinra and Cloud's enemy, Sephiroth, and discovers a reason to fight for a cause other than his own.
The events of FFVII would start one of the greatest sagas in the gaming world, a saga that resonates to this day with the remakes of FFVII, First Soldier and the upcoming “Ever Crisis“.

Is the Android version of FFVII good?
The Android version is a perfect port of the PS1 version with some improvements. There are adjustments to the speed of combats and a button to disable random encounters.
FFVII arrived on Android in 2016, and outside of Google Play Pass, it costs BRL 48,99.
For today, FFVII is a very light game, requires just over 2 GB and runs very well on most current Android devices.
