Or RPG game Fallout 2 is now available for Android, unofficially. The game received a port made by users where it is possible to play the title that is considered by many to be the best of the entire franchise.
A lot of people were already playing the game via ExaGear, a Windows emulator for Android, but this time it's a port APK.
Created by Github user alexbatalov, Fallout2-ce brings one of the most curious chapters of the entire franchise to mobile.
Released in 1998, Fallout 2 brings the story that takes place 80 years after the first game. Your main mission will be to find the GECK (Garden of Eden Creation Kit), a terraforming device created by Future-Tec, a division of the Vault-Tec Corporation.
As it is an “old school” RPG, Fallout 2 is not an action game. It's a turn-based RPG with click commands (now it's tapping, right?) whose gameplay fits very well on touchscreens.
It is worth remembering that the APK only “translates” the game files into the language of the Android system, you will still have to have the game purchased on Steam or GOG (preferably GOG) in order to play.
To play you will need to get the files from a Windows installation of Fallout 2. Copy the Fallout2 folder to your smartphone in a folder of your choice. Make sure all of the following files are included: master.dat, critter.dat, patch000.dat and data folder.
It is also possible to apply a Spanish translation, but it is not complete. You can access it here.
Fallout 2 is very cheap. On Steam it usually goes on sale for R$5, and on GOG.com for R$6.
Fallout 2 is an excellent RPG game, but I recommend it only for fans of “rooted western RPGs”, as you will spend more time reading messages than actually getting into combat. And when combat takes place, it is in turns and very “descriptive”, that is, without great animations.
