Bethesda has announced a new technology that will help other developers port their games to “cloud gaming” environments. The new tool will be called Orion.
It is not a service for the end consumer, but a tool for other developers. The idea is that game developers use this tool to optimize their games on services like Stadia and Projec xCloud.
Bethesda says that enabling just one of Orion's many features reduces the bandwidth required for a high-quality streaming experience by 40%.
In the ad, it was made a point to make clear the focus on mobile. DOOM (2016) was demonstrated running via streaming on a smartphone with a controller connected.
