Square Enix and developer Aiming announced that Dragon Quest Tact will be released on January 27, 2021 with versions for Android and iOS. This is already the western release of the game that has already been released in Japan.

Dragon Quest Tact is a free-to-play tactical RPG based on the Dragon Quest series that features turn-based combat and encounters with classic enemies of the franchise.
After its initial launch with over 10 million downloads in Japan, Dragon Quest Tact will be released in the West later this month for free, but we've already made it very clear that it will be a “gacha”.
In this game, the objective is to collect monsters from the Dragon Quest franchise and use them in battle. It reminds a bit of the concept of Dragon Quest 8. However, here the concept is extended to a stand-alone and offline game.

As with many recent free games, Dragon Quest Tact includes a paid subscription option. This one is called the Passport, which includes battle speed boosts, an additional +1 XP on gold quest attempts, and more. Watch the Dragon Quest Tact trailer in English below:
Unlike other Dragon Quest games, Tact's focus will not be on the story. The game is literally a spin-off made just to enjoy the fame of the franchise, which is very popular in Japan.
