In the same week it was released, Diablo Immortal stole the show like the most downloaded game of the week on both app stores. Both on Google Play and on the App Store, the game reached the first position.
And it wasn't just Spain and the US. According to Blizzard, the game became the most downloaded in 40 countries.
To celebrate, Blizzard rented a big screen in the middle of New York.
The detail is that the game was released on June 1st on mobile and June 2nd on PC. Officially, the launch was just yesterday (2).
It sure was a very successful release by Blizzard.
Diablo Immortal is an online action RPG that has many MMORPG elements. The game is free to download and play and its main attraction is the whole demonic atmosphere of the Diablo franchise.
Is the game pay to win? IT IS! But Blizzard has been kind enough to keep the built-in purchases as less suggestive as possible. Also, the company didn't put up automatic battles and the challenge is pretty fair. Anyway, despite looking more like a generic online RPG, Diablo Immortal has the weight of the franchise in its favor, combined with obvious choices.
I really hope other MMORPG companies do the same. Update your games and leave the automatic battles option as hidden as possible (and if possible, remove it). We gamers just have to thank you.
