Dandara is a platform game, developed by a Spanish studio. Scheduled for release on PC, Mac OS, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android, the game – which will probably be paid for – is inspired by the “metroidvania” style and has a lot of Tupiniquim culture.

If you missed a history or art class, you won't recognize names like Dandara. But a quick look at Tarsila's look is enough to see that it's inspired by the Abaporu painting by (duh) Tarsila do Amaral.

The cool thing is that the game takes Dandara's story and sets her in a dystopian world. A bizarre universe of oppression along the lines of George Orwell's literature (1984).

But in addition to the historical and artistic context, the game brings innovative movement and combat mechanics. Your character moves through jumps. Each screen is a small puzzle to solve. But the action sets the tone here, with incredible bosses to blast.

Dandara will be released on February 6th with versions for PC, Nintendo Switch, Android and iOS. The game will later arrive on Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
