Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls, Konami's mobile game, which had been canceled last year, rises from the ashes this Friday (13). The game resurfaced but this time, it turned iOS exclusive, through the game service Apple Arcade.
Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls is a side-scrolling action game that brings together classic characters from the Castlevania franchise. Several heroes return like Simon Belmont, Alucard, Soma Cruz, Maria and many others. The game simulates 2D gameplay but has 3D graphics.
The game was first announced in 2018, and had two beta tests in 2019 and 2020. However, close to launch, Konami decided to cancel the game and focus on another Castlevania mobile title, Moonlight Rhapsody.
So today, Friday the 13th, Konami decided to announce that it will release Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls, but as an offline game and belonging to the Apple Arcade service.
It is worth remembering that the initial idea of Grimoire of Souls was that it was a free to play game with many in-app purchases and “gacha” elements. However, in Apple Arcade, this type of game is not allowed. So, it seems, the game will have its internal purchases unlocked, just like Happened with Asphalt 8+, which was recently released there too.
For now the title is "coming soon" on Apple Arcade. There is no confirmed release date. But, we have good news for the Spanish fans. The game will arrive in Spanish.
