Apex Legends Mobile may be launched in “soft launch” in 2020, as suggested by a news item on the Pocket Gamer website.

Soft Launch, for those who don't know, is when a game is only released in certain countries. This is so that the developers can analyze the public reception and test the servers and the game, before a global release.

    [UPDATE FEBRUARY 2021]

Apex Legends Mobile will be released in China in the first half of 2021, ANALYST CONFIRMS!

Who discovered the chat was none other than Daniel Ahmad, well-known market analyst who has already leaked numerous releases on Twitter, including the two versions of PUBG Mobile, back in 2017.

From EA's Investor Fireside Chat today:

"Apex Legends in soft launch by the end of this year (on mobile)".

During the investor chat, EA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Andrew Wilson said, "We've talked about releasing Apex Legends by the end of this year." He cited Apex Legends after talking about the Mobile market.

The EA CEO also said that EA currently has "six or seven other games in various stages of incubation or production."

However, it may be that Wilson used a broader term to refer to Mobile, also encompassing portables. It is worth remembering that EA held an online presentation where they showed that Apex Legends is already on its way to Nintendo Switch.

But if Daniel Ahmad and Pocket Gamer are sharing it like it's Apex Legends Mobile, who are we to doubt it.
