Racing games are the most popular genre when it comes to mobile games. It became an easy formula for developers to dump their franchises without worrying about mechanics, plot and other things. Many games have been released since Subway Surfers revitalized the genre created in the 16-bit era, but few games innovated like Asgard run.

Instead of running in flat places, the characters run out of "pipes" and need to dodge obstacles. So far so good, but it gets better with the addition of enemies that need special weapons to be defeated.
Currently the best game of the genre is Lara Croft Relic Run, can Asgard Run dethrone this Square Enix shot? We won't know until the game launches globally, as it's currently only available in Canada.
