By surprise, Tenbirds released a new version of Animus. After Stan Alone (paid game), the producer released Herald, which has the same graphics and gameplay, but has a new story.
The game is pretty heavy. It requires at least 2.2 GB of internal space and a smartphone, at least in between.
Dubbed by many as “Dark Souls Mobile” the Animus series does have many similarities. These are difficult games, but they reward the most skilled players. It's not just "leveling up" the character, here either you play well or you will see your character die many times.
Animus – Herald is free to download, but after a while you have to pay.
The Herald takes you back in time, to the days when Kerr the Transgressor, Giver of Nightmares first came to the realm for revenge. You, Desperate - a pilgrim caught beyond time and a follower of the Resonance - are summoned by the late King Cadmus. Cadmus implores you to save the children of Qurrhem and the realm of Cadmeia. In a time before the Bloody Memory, you are alone between death and servitude... for the forgotten cannot die when in fact they never lived... until this day.
Prove your worth against Death's embodiment, the Gravedigger Anku, after the Knight of Breach sent by Kerr. Then cross Cadmeia to free its villagers from strange healers, hellhounds and monsters. In the heart of Qurrehm, Great Clarus Alina – Cadmus' loyal acolyte – waits, perhaps as Corrupt or Corruptor. Chaos and confusion plague the realm; you will have no friend besides your trusty sword, axe, or hammer. Bring mercy to the afflicted, and due judgment to those who embody the nightmare to come. You have returned.
