After harsh criticism from the press, Mario Kart Tour received an update that reshaped the in-game store. The update also came to fix several bugs in both the Android and iOS versions.
Mario Kart Tour is the biggest mobile game launch in history. Over 20 millions of downloads in less than 24 hours. Everyone rushed to test the game.
However, the feeling of disappointment began to take over most players a few days later. The exaggerated monetization was pointed out by the specialized critic (the gringa, because the national one just “drooled egg”).
With that, Nintendo revamped the store and random items became more scarce. Most items for the store offer direct purchase with no randomness.
However, the main shooting mechanics for collecting characters is still RNG-based and this could yield some future lawsuits for Nintendo (mainly in Europe).
But it has already become evident that Big N really wants to force profit with Mario Kart Tour which, in my opinion, is as average a release as Super Mario Run.
